Adolescent Depression Awareness Program

Dear New York State Association of School Nurses,

I am reaching out on behalf of The Adolescent Depression Awareness Program to ask for your help with our mission. We are an endowed program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine committed to improving depression education in schools. We have developed a free, evidence-based depression education curriculum specifically designed for high school, health teachers, school nurses, or any educators.

Created by a leading psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins University, this program has been rigorously tested across the country and shown to improve both teacher preparedness for teaching about depression and student depression awareness. This is an extremely important mission due to the large numbers of adolescents who suffer from depression. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the entire course and curriculum are fully funded—there is no cost to teachers, schools, or districts.

Our online training course helps educators themselves better understand depression and deliver a ready-to-use curriculum on depression, empowering students to better identify and understand mental health challenges and seek help.
We believe your organization’s members would greatly benefit from this resource, and we would be honored if you could help us share it. A simple mention in your newsletter, member emails, or your website would enable thousands of educators to access this free and life-saving tool.

You can view the program and free registration page here: https://www.adapeducation.org/.

We would be happy to provide:
A brief write-up or blurb for your newsletter or website.
Testimonials or data from the program’s successful implementation.
A short virtual presentation to your staff or members about the curriculum.

Your support would make a meaningful difference in reducing stigma and improving mental health outcomes among high school students across the country.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to partner with us. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like additional information or materials.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Mike Seaton
