Unit 2-5 is a unique area that offers you a well-rounded experience. We collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during morning (SNAP) rounds and ventilator rounds. Our team works together on unit projects during our Unit Practice Council (ex. Quality and process improvement initiatives). We offer flexible self-scheduling through our electronic system. We strive to support your needs while ensuring safe staffing. We put work life balance first. 2-5 is dedicated to providing quality patient care utilizing a team model nursing approach including LEAD RN, RNs, LPNs, PCTs and SNAs. Pay Range: $41.85 - $59.00
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location

What You Will Do
- Develops, coordinates, and implements staffing plans to ensure adequate care coverage and adjusts unit productivity to meet targets.
- Coordinates patient admissions, discharges, and transfers for optimal bed utilization in collaboration with the Administrative Coordinator Office.
- Manages urgent/emergent situations by reallocating personnel and resources as needed.
- Participate in hiring, evaluating, initiating corrective action and terminating employees as necessary and educates team members in clinical competencies.
- Ensures quality nursing care per New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.
- Two years progressive experience in acute/critical care and/or leadership preferred. Experience in related field will be considered based on specific department needs and/or requirements. Certification/licensure as required by regulatory agency. Ideally the candidate will have strong clinical skills, leadership qualities and must be actively working toward an advanced degree.
- Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
