Position Description

Position Details

  • Job Title: RN – Behavioral Health Adult Emergency (CPEP)
  • Contract Duration: 14 weeks with strong potential for extension
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Location: New York, NY 10037
  • Setting: Adult Emergency Psychiatric Unit (CPEP)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of behavioral health RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency room RN experience
  • CPEP experience – Required
  • Active NY State RN License (Primary Source Verified)
  • AHA BLS Certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage and manage patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses
  • De-escalate behavioral situations using crisis intervention techniques
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other team members
  • Maintain accurate and timely charting (EPIC experience a plus!)
  • Support patients through trauma-informed, patient-centered care
